2 text leaves with 15 (of 17) lithographs. (Folio) 44.6x34.7 cm (17½x13¾"), in original cloth-backed and -cornered portfolio with cover label by E.R Weiss. No. 55 of an edition limited to 100 copies.
Each lithograph signed by the artist including those by Franz Domscheit, August Gaul, Erich Heckel, Heinrich Heuser, Kathe Kollwitz, Max Liebermann, Hans Meid, Alfred Partikel, Max Pechstein, Hans Purrmann, Wolf Rohricht, Schmidt-Rottluf, Max Slevogt, Milly Steger, and E.R. Weiss. Prints missing are those by Karl Hofer and Georg Kolbe. The Berlin Free Secession was an influential spin-off group from the earlier Berlin Secession. Both were modernist movements at odds with the official and government-sanctioned art of the time. Harnessing several different styles including Expressionism, The Free Secession brought together leading Berlin artists such as ;Kathe Kollwitz, Max Pechstein, Max Liebermann, and ;Karl Schmidt-Rottluff.
