Rare complete copy of he Great "She" Bible, complete with title pages for both the Old and New Testaments, the genealogies, and the important double-page engraved map of the Holy Land by John Speed, which is often removed. The "She" Bible is Fry's "first edition, second issue" of the King James Bible, commonly known as the Authorized Version, undoubtedly the most influential of all English language versions of the Bible. The first edition is known to exist in two issues, the Great "He" Bible and the Great "She" Bible. The accepted first issue of the Bible had the reading in Ruth 3:15,"...and he went into the citie," and in the accepted second issue, the passage reads correctly "...and she went into the citie." ;

The original cover leather rubbed; title page of Old Testament trimmed to or just over border, inlaid to size, some soiling and a stain; lower corner of Eee1 restored affecting a few words, a few other corners neatly restored, notably toward the end of the New Testament, with some restoration to edges/margins as well; modest soiling and foxing within, occasional moderate staining to upper margins and corners at times creeping into the text, a few marginal chips; overall a very nice, solid, presentable copy, well-restored but with a light touch, very good condition.
