Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue and White Porcelain Meiping Vase. The porcelain potted into a traditional Meiping form vase, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, flaring mouth rim with reverse dome lid finial bud, raised on round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in blue and white color, depicted of abundant ripe pomegranate tree with fresh foliage, sturdy branch and flowers bloom. Pomegranate is known as the fruit of happiness for its red color and is a symbol of plentiful offspring for its many seeds, as well as good luck for one's descendants. The Daoist attribute to it the same power as the peach of immortality. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
