Description
Tony Hochstetler (American, b. 1964). "Tree Frog and Vine" bronze on black granite and walnut base, n.d. Edition 4 of 21. Signed and numbered on back of a leaf. An endearing bronze sculpture depicting an adorable tree frog leaping/perching upon a leafy vine embellished with a gorgeous green patina by Tony Hochstetler. In addition to this playful form, Hochstetler added another layer of amusement by having the entire composition rotate! A keen observer, Hochstetler was greatly inspired by the natural world. In his words, "I sculpt the animals and plants that fascinated me as I was growing up, and that still intrigue me today. Insects, reptiles, amphibians, and fish have always been the animals that interest me the most. The diversity of these animals, the way they move, and the compositions that they form are the driving forces behind my desire to sculpt." Size: 6.5" L x 9" W x 10" H (16.5 cm x 22.9 cm x 25.4 cm)
