Signed EGM for ELLEN GRAVES MARTIN dated 1999 - Ellen Martin lived in Eden NC and was one of North Carolinas only African American potters in the late 20th century. Her mother was Carrie Graves, a prolific African American artist who was as talented and prolific as the great Nellie May Roew with there works being very similar. Ellen Martin passed at age 44 in the year 2004 of a heart attack. She is remembered by many Folk Potters that attended the same folk art shows as she during the early 2000s- 12 3/4" x 15 3/4"
