8" tall - African American. Eden, NC. One of the only known North Carolina Black Folk Potters. Ellen Graves Martin was the daughter of Carrie Graves. Ellen would hand sculpt her clay and have it fire at other potters kiln's. Charlie Lisk fired for Ellen a time or two. She was very prolific and her lions can stand beside a Billy Ray Hussey lion any day of the week!
