Description
Group to feature six individual paper documents, with original Civil War related items pertaining to Henry Fraley (66th O.V.I.) and the Willey family of Ashtabula, OH, including;

Union soldier's discharge form, presented as a single page printed and written document with eagle emblem, to Sergeant Henry Fraley under Captain Thomas McConnell, Company A, 66th Regiment, Ohio Volunteers, dated 15 December, 1863, Wauhatchie, Tennessee, with signatures including John G. Mitchell (1838-1894). 11" x 8.75" inches, condition good with mild surface and edge distress, creasing from folding, and mild age toning to paper.

Muster out roll, presented as a multi-folded single sheet with written details, of First Lieutenant Henry Fraley, Company A. 66th Ohio Veteran Volunteers, dated 23 June, 1865, Louisville, K.Y. includes signature of Captain to 150th New York Volunteers. Overall 30" x 10.75" inches, condition good with some edge wear, weakening to crease and a few minor holes.

Printed and signed Merchant's National Bank check, Harrisburg PA, printing personalized to Henry Fraley China, Glass and Oils (Fraley W.H. & Co.), signed by Henry Fraley, undated (blank, 1890's). 9" x 3" inches, good condition with mild surface wear.

Three individual documents associated to the Willey family of Ashtabula, Ohio, including copy of birth record for Albert Lewis Willey (dated 1954), Insurance policy for A.L. Willey dated 1954, and fifty dollar stock to the Ashtabula, Youngstown & Pittsburgh Rail Road Company certified to A.P. Willey, dated 1874 (fair condition).

NOTE: The association between Henry Fraley and the Willey family is unclear, although the documents were passed down together and are being offered, as found, within five individual lots (please see lots #187-#191). Henry Fraley (born circa 1839 or 1840, Cumberland Co, Pennsylvania) occupation listed as a farmer and later merchant, was enlisted on 5th November, 1861, from Campaign County, Ohio, at Urbana, as a private of Company A, 66th Regiment, Ohio Volunteers Infantry under Captain Charles E. Fulton. After several promotions in rank, he was ultimately appointed Captain of Company H. on 14 June, 1865.
