THREE CASED SETS OF WORLD WAR II-ERA U.S. NAVY RECOGNITION/TEACHING MODELS OF JAPANESE SHIPS
Die cast models. Two cases include 20 ships each. One case, which has a rare keyed lock, includes eight ships. Most ships with identification labels. Interior of cases painted blue. Exterior of cases painted gray and with stenciled lettering. Two with label "Special Devices Division USN Bureau of Aeronautics ... Japanese Miniature Ship Models ... Mfrd. By Comet Metal Products Co., Inc. ...".
Ship lengths to 8". Case heights from 13" to 14". Lengths from 15" to 16".
Condition
Some models from a case of 20 are polychrome painted, and at least four models from that case of appear to be non-original. Cases with wear; one with green paint stains, one with replacement latch.
