Toraja Ritual Cloth "Maa'" or "Ma' wa", Indonesia, 19th C. Ceremonial hanging of handspun and hand woven cotton, with a painted and stamped pattern. The textile is made to resemble an Indian trade cloth made for the Indonesian market. It has an overall repeat of connecting circles. Size: 13' x 2' (396 x 61 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
