Description
Rare lodge glass North Bohemia, around 1830 Radiate cut decorated stand with toothed rim. The cylindrical wall is decorated with stoned border between notched borders. Decorative design in fine, partly polished cut: cartouche surrounded by Masonic emblems (beehive, compass, angle...), dog and mythical creature with eye and ear on heraldic colors of blue and red, below it roll (apron?) with inscription ''AND SWEAR''. On the side and back sun, moon, seven stars and the all-seeing eye. Spikes partly bumped. H. 11 cm A production in the Jizera Mountains and decoration by Anton Simm in Gablonz is not excluded. Similar decorative elements were also used by Franz Hansel in nearby Rodowitz near Bürgstein, who is known to have purchased glasses from the Kinsky counts' cottage.
