Description
American Brilliant cut glass jug cut by Libbey in their very rare Columbia pattern. This pattern was designed by W.C. Anderson for Libbey and patented on February 14, 1893. It was exhibited at the World's Fair Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This piece is pictured in the ACGA reprint of the original Libbey sales catalog on page 34. There are large hobstars with protruding buttons around the top neck. The body is cut with curved tusks and vesicas filled with fine hob diamonds The base is cut with a large 20 pt. hobstar. This jug is a fine example of one of the rarest and most sought after cut patterns by Libbey. Ca. 1900
