Description
A Greek red-figure mug
Apulia, circa 340-300 B.C.
Depicting a winged be-jewelled erote seated on a rocky outcrop, facing right, holding a patella in his proper left hand, a hydria on a tripod opposite the erote, rosettes in the field, a band of flowering laurel along the cylindrical neck, a band of dots along the rim, details in added white, the handle formed into a 'Herakles knot', 12cm high
