Description
A Greek red-figure lidded mug
Apulia, circa 340-300 Century B.C.
Enlivened with white and ochre slip, the body decorated with a female profile head wearing an ornate saccos, a palmette under the handle, the knopped lid with two female profile female heads, two plamettes dividing, the handle formed into a 'Herakles knot', 18.5cm high, ink inscribed '129' on the underside of the base and lid, a printed label on the side numbered E.G045
