VERY FINE UPPER MISSOURI NATIVE AMERICAN PLAINS INDIAN BALL-HEAD WAR CLUB, ash, carved from the solid, the long shaped and tapered haft with a circular butt end, upper half retaining likely original black-painted finish featuring three crescent-like cut-outs, ball having likely original blue-painted finish and unusual drop scalp lock provision. Presented on a custom iron stand. Possibly Eastern Sioux. Mid 19th century. 28" LOA.
