AMERICAN / BRITISH SILK-EMBROIDERED NEEDLEWORK PICTURE, silk, wool, pencil, and paint on silk, depicting a pastoral scene featuring a shepherdess with wooden staff in hand with two sheep to her side, she peers down to a child, both figures with drawn faces and arms, landscape featuring luscious foliage, grass, and a tree with a painted sky. Housed under glass in a period gilt-molded frame with eglomise mat. First half 19th century. 9 1/2" x 11 1/2" sight, 14" x 16 1/2" OA.

Condition
Excellent visual condition with light toning, minor wear to thread having possibly a few breaks, some thread with fugitive color, frame with wear, surface scratches, flakes and chips to molding and gilt, some in-painting of gilt. Not examined out of frame.
