Hugo Muehlig 1854 Dresden - 1929 Dusseldorf Learned painting first from his father, Meno Muehlig, then at the Dresden Art Academy, finally from 1877 to 1880 as a master student of Viktor Paul Mohn; 1881 move to Duesseldorf; traveled regularly to Willingshausen and became a member of the artists' association Willingshausen painters' colony; was in Duesseldorf from 1887 until his death in 1929 a member of the artists' association Malkasten and from 1891 in the secessionist Freie Vereinigung Duesseldorfer Kuenstler; preserve exemplary works e.g. the Neue Galerie Berlin, the Kunstmuseum Duesseldorf, the Neue Galerie Kassel and the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum Koeln.
