The family arms were in 1698 granted by the Lyon Court.In the period of the assay (c1900) there was a notable use of this crest and motto by William MacDougal DUNCAN (1873-1964). He was born in Lancashire and died in Tonbridge, Kent and his ancestry can be traced to Aberdeen and Tayside
