AN INDIAN COLONIAL SILVER BALUSTER CUP AND COVERHAMILTON & CO., CIRCA 1820With an acorn finial to the foliate chased domed cover, a leaf capped double scroll handle, chased with three foliate bands, engraved 'To Captain Mounsey for his allenlion during the voyage from England 1820', on a circular pedestal foot21cm (8 1/4in) 907g (29.2 oz) Captain Mounsey had a distinguished naval career. He joined the navy at the tender age of 13 in February 1780. During his service he captured 31 of the enemy's ships including the frigate La Furieuse for which he received the thanks of the admiralty and later was nominated for the Order of the Bath in June 1815.
