108 清 竹簧梅花紋鼻煙壺

鼻煙壺採用竹簧工藝製成，木胎掏膛定型貼簧。蓋面隆起呈三角錐形，頂雕圓珠鈕。壺身扁長方形，四邊倭角，下承階狀平底足。壺腹中央略鼓起，兩面紋飾相同，飾梅花圖。梅花枝幹蜿蜒生長呈S形動態，枝椏間花苞與盛開的花朵相互穿插掩映，姿態清雅高逸。整體做工精秀潤細，起線勻稱嚴謹，黏結、鑲嵌工藝更為精妙。
竹簧作為一門竹雕刻藝術，始於清初而盛於乾、嘉時期。將其鑲貼在器物上，介面處黏拼得天衣無縫，一氣呵成，可不受竹材限制而做成任何形狀器物。於方寸間顯示中國古代黏結、鑲嵌工藝之特點，並展現高超雕刻技術，然搭配寒梅清雅風韻，流露高潔脫俗的文人雅趣。拍場相似之例可參見拍賣於北京翰海1997年12月20日，編號1394，清中期〈文竹雕梅花鼻煙壺〉，與本品皆為精緻竹簧鼻煙壺巧品。

Linda Riddell Hoffman（1923－2009）是一位充滿魅力的優雅女士，不僅天姿國色，對生活更充滿積極向上的態度與冒險精神。婚後，定居於波特蘭，並投身眾多活動與團體，曾擔任波特蘭歌劇協會主席，任職於希望之城癌症中心、波特蘭房屋建造協會。在此期間，Linda 對亞洲藝術產生濃厚興趣。於眾多藝術收藏中，尤為熱愛鼻煙壺，更與 Bob C. Stevens、Russell Mullin、Lilla S. Perry 等人齊名，成為當時美國西岸藝術收藏前線的重要人物。1968年，Linda 為促使「第一屆全美鼻煙壺收藏家研討會」在波特蘭舉辦的關鍵性人物，當時組辦會議的核心成員包含 Donald Jenkins、Hugh Moss 等人，是次會議吸引歐美各地眾多鼻煙壺愛好者不遠千里前往參加，成為「美國中國鼻煙壺協會」（「國際中國鼻煙壺協會」前身）的重要奠基石。隔年，Linda 的部分重要鼻煙壺珍藏在紐約「美國中國鼻煙壺協會年會」展出。此外，Linda 亦是波特蘭亞洲藝術委員會之創辦人及董事會成員。晚年，Linda 移居至加州，度過她輝煌的中國鼻煙壺收藏生涯直至耄耋之年。豐富的鼻煙壺藏品陳列在白色櫥櫃中，每件珍品都傾注其滿腔熱情與對亞洲藝術無盡的熱愛。本次「極可愛翫」專場，便有多件鼻煙壺珍品出自 Linda 收藏，不僅令人一睹其收藏之精妙，更是專場藏家與其情誼之見證。
