107 清 翠玉素面鼻煙壺

天然翡翠為材，發色幽碧，冰瑩水潤。壺直口，豐肩，扁腹，腹下漸收，平底。壺身線條勻稱，造形簡練，通體不加任何雕飾，純以無瑕瑩潤之玉質取勝，翠色濃者釅綠，淡者青翠，綠意斑斕，沁人心脾，盡顯翡翠豔綠色彩和細膩質地，反映出清代文人崇尚溫潤玉質之高妙品格，透出不凡尊貴氣息。
鼻煙壺材質工藝、種類繁多，極盡清代藝術之大成。清初屈復：「一壺有值數十金、百金者，金、玉、洋瓷、玻璃、寶石、刻鏤精妙。」陸耀《煙譜》：「一器或值數十金，貴人饋遺以為重禮…所貯之瓶備極工巧，多用瑪瑙、玻璃、玳瑁或洋瓷、金銀為之。」皆是對鼻煙壺之貴重與精巧之描述。而翡翠自古以來就蘊涵神秘東方文化的靈秀之氣，有「東方綠寶石」美譽，更有俗語：「家有黃金萬兩，不如凝翠一方。」道出翡翠具有極高的珍罕性和收藏價值。
在北京故宮藏畫中，清道光〈道光帝喜溢秋庭圖軸〉、〈孝全成皇后與幼女像軸〉，畫作中分別描繪道光帝和孝全成皇后日常生活的場景。細觀之，可見道光帝與皇后的几案上，均擺放翡翠素面鼻煙壺，可見清朝皇室尤對翡翠材質鼻煙壺之追崇和鍾愛，在宮廷陳設中經常扮演不可或缺的重要角色。

Linda Riddell Hoffman（1923－2009）是一位充滿魅力的優雅女士，不僅天姿國色，對生活更充滿積極向上的態度與冒險精神。婚後，定居於波特蘭，並投身眾多活動與團體，曾擔任波特蘭歌劇協會主席，任職於希望之城癌症中心、波特蘭房屋建造協會。在此期間，Linda 對亞洲藝術產生濃厚興趣。於眾多藝術收藏中，尤為熱愛鼻煙壺，更與 Bob C. Stevens、Russell Mullin、Lilla S. Perry 等人齊名，成為當時美國西岸藝術收藏前線的重要人物。1968年，Linda 為促使「第一屆全美鼻煙壺收藏家研討會」在波特蘭舉辦的關鍵性人物，當時組辦會議的核心成員包含 Donald Jenkins、Hugh Moss 等人，是次會議吸引歐美各地眾多鼻煙壺愛好者不遠千里前往參加，成為「美國中國鼻煙壺協會」（「國際中國鼻煙壺協會」前身）的重要奠基石。隔年，Linda 的部分重要鼻煙壺珍藏在紐約「美國中國鼻煙壺協會年會」展出。此外，Linda 亦是波特蘭亞洲藝術委員會之創辦人及董事會成員。晚年，Linda 移居至加州，度過她輝煌的中國鼻煙壺收藏生涯直至耄耋之年。豐富的鼻煙壺藏品陳列在白色櫥櫃中，每件珍品都傾注其滿腔熱情與對亞洲藝術無盡的熱愛。本次「極可愛翫」專場，便有多件鼻煙壺珍品出自 Linda 收藏，不僅令人一睹其收藏之精妙，更是專場藏家與其情誼之見證。
