Condition
The hat is restored and there is some related overpainting to the hair and forehead, including one eye. There are eight or nine small flakes to the enamel on the rim of the hat and a chip to the rim of the hat to his left which is about 1.2cm wide and 0.5cm high maximum. There is restoration at the junction of his right arm and shoulder. The restoration has discoloured and partially flaked away to reveal a break or crack. About half of the handle of the seachest to his right is lacking. The handle on the other side is restored. Both feet have a fine crack running from the toe to the buckle, both apparently extended firing cracks. There is also a vertical firing crack on his right leg which is about 3.5cm long.
