Description
A Staffordshire pearlware 'Double Base' Toby Jug, circa 1790
Of traditional form and seated on a rare 'Double Base' washed in green, holding a thinly potted jug in both hands, a pipe leaning against his right leg, his eyebrows unusually represented with fine incised lines, his coat picked out in speckled light brown, his shoes and hat in dark brown, the handle and part of the chair picked out in bright yellow, 26.1cm high
