**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A nice pair of hand-built pottery 'sheepface' figures, so called due to their distinct ovine facial features. The first figure wears a white waist band as well as minimalist earspools and has a band wrapped twice around the elongated forehead. The taller figure is decorated with white spots, a 'beaded' necklace, and ample white pigment across the head and hat. Size of largest: 2.4" W x 5.4" H (6.1 cm x 13.7 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-private Arkansas, USA collection, via descent in 2021; ex-private Florida estate, USA, acquired from the 1960s to 1970s
