M1866 Remington 41 caliber Wild West Double Derringer O/U

Item Details

Description

The is the classic Remington model 1866 cowboy, saloon gambler derringer we see in all the old western movies. Marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y." on top of the barrel rib indicates this is the Type II derringer which was manufactured from 1888 to 1911. Serial number 185 under barrel. Blade front sight and notch rear sight on hinged tip-up barrel with manual extractor. Smooth spur trigger and checkered hammer. The grips are fine condition Mother of Pearl. Overall Excellent condition with 97% of the bright original factory nickel finish.

I have pasted some great images of movie cowboys with these guns. My favorite is the most recent -The Ballad of Buster Scruggs- where Buster surrenders his pair of Mother of Pearl Remingtons calling them his SENORITA PISTOLS when entering the saloon.
