VG+ (4.5). Cover: Don Heck. Art: Don Heck (2 stories), Ross Andru, Rudy Palais. GPAnalysis: A 4.5 sold for $360 in April 2020.
Rudy Palais's "Death Kiss," reprinted from Horrific # 5 (May, 1953), is a swipe of Basil Wolverton's classic "Robot Woman" from Gillmor's Weird Mysteries #2 (December 1952), in which an inventor is overwhelmed with his sex-robot's unrelenting affections. The man attempts to destroy his sex-bot but merely melts its plastic skin, rendering it horrific but no less horny ("Don't be frightened, dear! I'm not as good-looking as before, of course! But I still love you! I just couldn't go to sleep without first kissing you!"). What Palais's terror tale lacks in originality, it more than makes up for with abundant cheesecake pix, including some inventive angles straight out of the Will Eisner playbook. Plus: Gorilla with gat plugs primate pal.
