Off-white pages. Cover: H.C. Kiefer. Art: Don Heck, John Belcastro, Pete Morisi. Overstreet: "Text on Marquis de Sade, Torture, Demonology." GPAnalysis: A 4.0 sold for $600 in December 2021.
Chamber Pot of Chills: In "The Evil Ones," a man discovers that accidents don't happen by accident. A cabal of invisible subterranean cannibalistic gnomes causes them by pushing people in front of trucks, dropping safes on them, etc. Before the guy can tell anyone, the gnomes drown him in the sewer. After someone complains that "the cesspool in their yard was overflowing -- something was CLOGGING IT!!," the cops find the dead man facedown in a pile of fecal sludge. Don Heck's climactic panel is a masterpiece of disgust — his depiction of the fatal turd slurry is guaranteed to stain the reader's brain like Satan's own skid marks.
