Description
The Mitsogho , Sogho, is established in a forested area on the right bank of the Ngoumé River. The company Bwiti , or Bweté, which has a system of reliquaries comparable to that of the Fang and Kota, formed the cohesion of the mitsogho families. Their masks were worn at night by initiates under the influence of an iboga hallucinogenic plant, during funerals, and then stored in the male initiation house ebanza . The Vuvi produced relatively comparable masks, influenced by the proximity of the Mitsogho.
