Description

A THREE PIECE FRENCH ART DECO ONYX AND GRIOTTE MARBLE CLOCK WITH GARNITURE, CIRCA 1920, with a hinged oval beveled glass and gilt metal bezel covering a conforming dial with stylized black Arabic numerals enclosing silvered metal pierced hands over twin key escapements, verso clockworks covered by a brass backplate stamped with oval "F C," flanking a windmill above "11158 42," with pendulum stamped "11158," and one winding key, set within an oval green onyx and Griotte de Belloc case held aloft by two rectangular pedestals centering twin panels of stylized flowering leafy foliage cast in relief, raised on a stepped base of same marbles trimmed in continuous gilt metal disc and bead elevated on compressed circular feet; height: 11 1/2", width: 17 1/4", depth: 5 1/2"; together with a pair of matching coupes; height: 8 3/4", width: 5 1/8", depth: 5 1/8".

Condition

Beveled glass has small edge chip, gilt metal mounts have oxidized spots, small edge chips on onyx and griotte marble, old repair on clock's back left corner, one tazza base side re-glued, and surface buildup in crevices throughout.
