Description

Parian Bust of Robert Stephenson (1803 - 1859), stamped across back shoulder "R. Stephenson / Josiah Wedgwood & Sons / EW. Wyon. F, R. Stephenson, Published March 29, 1858". Robert Stephenson was an early English railway and civil engineer. The only son of George Stephenson, the "Father of Railways", he built on the achievements of his father. Robert has been called the "Greatest engineer of 19th century".

Near fine. A small imperfection, apparently original, to the top of the head. Some minor discoloration.
