Description

A black basalt bust of Venus, modelled after Canova, and mounted on a circular socle. Marked "Wedgwood" on back and base. This was the same model exhibited by Wedgwood at the Great Exhibition. This bust was manufactured between 1898 and 1908.

Near Fine. A numeric notation from a prior auction appears on the back, some light wear to base, and in need of some surface cleaning.
