A primitive 18th century shoe foot blanket box in old green paint over original blue-green paint, with long rattail hinges on interior that wrap down the back and under the base - original lock, hasp and key (lock in good working order) - original hand forged iron side handles with star shaped escutcheons - dovetail and rose head nail construction. Condition: Some use wear, split in the 1 board top, small section with loss along left top edge, one of the shoe feet are a later 19th century replacement - missing till - overall good condition. Measures 38 3/4"W x 18 1/2"D x 17 1/2"H.
