Description

A good primitive Hudson Valley blanket box with rattail hinges, original till, and a very old shellac finish over original blue paint. Note the heart shaped decoration around the escutcheon. The shellac has darkened over the years obscuring most of the blue paint, missing lock, otherwise good condition. Circa 1800. Measures 44 3/4"W x 18"D x 17 1/4".
