1st-4th century A.D. A lead arrowhead-shaped finial of a medical probe, comprising a cylindrical shaft and triangular flattened head with rounded shoulders. Cf. similar (complete) implement in the University of Pennsylvania Museum (Historical Collections at the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library) needle probe, inventory no.00207. 6.37 grams, 61 mm (2 3/8 in.) Found Thames spoil, City of London, UK. The object is very likely the upper tip of a medical probe or curette. [No Reserve]
