This Vintage Kanawha Amberina Glass Hobnail Tumbler is in near MINT condition. Colors are vibrant and glass has NO nicks or cracks. It stands 5” tall and holds 12 oz. easily. Kanawha Glass was in business from 1955-1989. Former employees of the Dunbar Glass Co. formed the Kanawha Glass Co. in 1955 after Dunbar closed in 1953. The new company was located in West Virginia and named after the Kanawha River. At first Kanawha produced colorless cut and etched glass items. By the 1960’s it competed with Blenko, Rainbow, Pilgrim, Viking and other popular mid-20th century glass makers producing colorful stylized retro mod forms. Kanawha provided the fashionable glass of the time offering many forms in crackle glass, a wide array of bright colors and exaggerated forms. This is a great piece to add to any Amberina collection.
