African Kanyok or Luba Black Burnished Pottery Jar Democratic Republic Congo, 20th Century AD. A large figural jar by an unknown female artist, with bulbous body, incised and textured geometric pattern; a long slender neck/handle with gloss patina from being held. The Top has a small circular spot behind a biplanar head with open mouth as if singing.Intact Height: 16 3/4 inches.Very choice and expressive and tribally used.
