Original Very Large Civil War Era Albumen of the Locomotive Merrimac. This image is likely of the first Merrimac built in Boston or Concord New Hampshire in the 1850s and scraped in 1897. Showing a full view of the Locomotive and the workers, we also know this photo was taken at exactly 1:02pm. in the afternoon according to the clock tower. Large image is 17" x 12-1/2" mounted on original 20" x 16" studio card. Image has a fox mark left side edge, 1/2" scrape mark left side of whistle, and dent at cab roof center. Heavy edge wear, Foxing, and missing pieces to corners of studio card with some cracks. Enlarge photo image for color and tone condition.
