Glamour painted by Alex Redmond (1902 - 1975) is an oil on board portrait. Redmond's signature is on lower right and painting is framed and lined. Measures 15.50 inches by 11.50 inches. Famed for his magazine story illustration and realistic genre, Redmond self proclaimed himself the Artists of Magazines. In the 1930s, Alex Redmond began doing interior illustrations for stories and painted the cover for final edition of the long run magazine Everybody's Combined With Romance as well as painted numerous oversized covers for other magazines including Real Detective Tales, Crime Detective, amongst other. Alex was a regular pulp magazine painter for Harry Steeger's Popular Publications many romance related such as Complete Love, Ideal Love, Sweetheart Love Stories, Love Fiction Monthly, Love Novels,New Love, All Story Love, amongst others. During World War II, Redmond did freelance illustrations at his studio in New York. Alex Redmond art has sold for over $10,000 at auction.
