Description
Northwestern Europe, England, ca. late 18th to early 20th century CE. A fine collection of 18 sterling silver utensils! All are for dining except for a letter opener blade. Included is a sifting ladle with piercings across the bowl; a serving ladle; 6 serving spoons; 1 serving fork; a pie knife with an openwork blade; 7 dining or teaspoons; and a charming baby spoon. In addition to the silver collection are 2 matching 20th century soup spoons comprised of nickel-brass. The silver spoons and cutlery are from a variety of esteemed British silversmiths including George Aldwinckle, William Eley & William Fearn, Stephen Adams I, and William Johnson. All have maker, city, and purity marks and are in excellent condition. Some include personalized initials on the handle finials. Size of pie knife: 12.3" L x 1.8" W (31.2 cm x 4.6 cm); quality of silver in dining utensils: 92.5 to 93%; letter opener silver quality: 55%; total weight of all silver: 997.9 grams

Condition
Most hallmarks are clear and sharply stamped. Softening of some e details on some marks. Some russet patina within openwork of pie knife. 2 spoons are 20th century nickel brass while the 18 silver items date 18th to 19th century.
