1942 Lionel US Navy Ships Binnacle New Old Stock

Item Details

Description

This is a very nice example of a World War 2 era United States Navy ships binnacle. This piece was made by the Lionel Corporation and is dated 1942. The binnacle is housed inside the gray-painted dome. There are two sliding doors that open to view the instrument. The entire piece measures 13 inches wide and 13 inches tall. Doors open and shut as they should. There is some minor paint loss where the doors open. There is a very minor dent on the top peak. Otherwise, the binnacle is in excellent external condition. The instrument itself does on the axis points. The compass dial is sluggish and does not move to the correct direction. The original liquid inside may need to be cleaned out and replaced.
