Description

Military Maritime Bell.
Classic WWII era US Navy quarterdeck bell.
Cast in iron with bronze finish made by the Harvard Lock Company, embossed on the top of the bell and U.S.N. embossed on the bell's lower rim.
Dimensions: base diameter: 9 1/2 in., height: 9 in. including mounting stem.
Retains its original bell clacker.
Bell is made of iron and weighs approximately 17 pounds.
Condition: Navy Bell is well preserved.
Provenance: private estate.

Bells during the height of the second World War were cast in iron due to a limitation of bronze and brass for actual combat essentials.

Condition

Very good well preserved estate condition.
