ASSORTED STERLING, COIN SILVER, AND SILVER-PLATED FLATWARE AND OTHER ARTICLES, LOT OF 19, many pieces with personalized engravings; sterling pieces comprising two souvenir spoons of one New York City example by Paye & Baker Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI and one Peoria, IL collegiate example with enameled handle; coin silver pieces consisting of a card case with engine-turned engraving including a presentation case from Matson & Co. of Chicago, IL, a pocket knife by Northwestern Silver Ware Mfg. Co. of Chicago, IL, a set of three teaspoons retailed by Peter Perret Hayes of Poughkeepsie, NY, a set of three teaspoons by Bradbury Melon Bailey of Ludlow and Rutland, VT, a tablespoon by Isaac Reed & Son of Philadelphia, PA, a mustard ladle by S. Hoyt & Co. of New York City, NY, and three teaspoons with forward-tipped fiddle handles featuring one by Brackett, Crosby & Brown of Boston, MA, one by N. Harding & Co. of Haverhill, MA, and one marked "C. WARNER" possibly for Caleb Warner of Salem, MA or Cuthbert Warner of Baltimore, MD; also including a pair of grape shears either being silver-plated or coin silver, and three silver-plated souvenir spoons including one for the 1934 Chicago World's Fair. Most pieces marked. Total weight excluding grape shears and three silver-plated spoons: 9.850 ozt. 19th/20th century. Card case 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" OA.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
Condition
Mostly in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including bending, nicks, worn spots to raised/engraved decoration, and/or dents.
