Kee Chiu (Big Brother Chiu) family were importers of Chinese Goods and wholesale Commodities to The Chinese community and Americans. Being considered as a leader in the community and being an astute business person, brought him wealth and a place in society that allowed him access to the political elite. His capabilities allowed him to bring in highly collectable items from his home country. His collection was extensive and of the finest quality. Items from his collection are part of this auction.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Blue and White Underglaze Red Porcelain Moon Vase. The porcelain finely potted in compressed globular body, thick and tall, emerging ruyi ribbon flanked toward the straight cylindrical neck, gently toward the bulbous garlic head shaped mouth rim, raised on slightly concaved splaying foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in blue and red underglaze against the clean white ground, depicted wrapped lotus bloom and interspersed scrolling foliate and auspicious pattern ribbons. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
