Typewritten letter to Barnet Nover of the Washington Post declining an invitation to speak at the Overseas Writers Club. Also, ALS signed "Jim" by James Forrestal/Secretary of Defense, March 11, 1949, to Barnet "Barney" Nover, Denver Post Washington Bureau, thanking him for recent courtesies. Note: Forrestal was the first US Secretary of Defense, appointed to the newly created position by President Truman in 1947.
