East Asia, China, Song Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1279 CE; Yuan Dynasty, ca. 1271 to 1368 CE; Ming Dynasty, ca. 1368 to 1644 CE; Southeast Asia, modern day Vietnam, Anamese (sometimes Annamese), ca. 15th to 17th century CE. A lovely ensemble of 6 pottery vessels from South Asia: 4 jars, 1 bowl, and 1 cup. Adorned with fine line blue-on-white decoration, the first is an Anamese jar presenting a piriform body with a narrow neck, a flared rim, and a ring-shaped foot. Next is a celadon-glazed vessel from the Song Dynasty, exhibiting a bulbous body, brief neck, and annular rim flanked by 2 petite, loop handles, all sitting upon a narrow, discoid base. Relief decoration of floral and vegetal motifs embellishes the exterior. The final 2 jars are from the Yuan Dynasty. Enveloped in white glaze, both jars boast planar bases, broad hips, round shoulders, narrow necks, and annular rims. The jar with the narrower neck also features a pair of loop handles and is embellished by relief decoration. Size of largest: 2.4" Diameter x 3.6" H (6.1 cm x 9.1 cm)

The bowl and cup both showcase hemispherical bodies, gently flared rims, ring-form feet, and blue-on-white decorated interiors. The bowl is from the Song Dynasty and displays an undulating rim with a blue border of stylized designs, a figural tondo on its basin, and rich marine deposits throughout from centuries spend on the ocean floor. Last, the cup is from the Ming Dynasty and is decorated with abstract spiral and phytomorphic patterns on the interior and exterior. Liberal remains of a handle on 1 side indicate that it may have been used as a teacup.

Bottom half of celadon jar restored from new material. Loss to handle of cup and 1 handle of white jar. Chipping to rims of bowl and 1 white jar. All have expected nicks and abrasions, commensurate with age. Otherwise, all are very nice with great remining details to relief and painted decorations. Nice marine encrustations to bowl and interior of 1 white jar.
