East Asia, China, Song Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1279 CE. A fine pair of pottery vessels from the Song Dynasty. Enveloped in a celadon glaze, the first vessel is a cup presenting with a rounded bottom and thick walls that gently narrow to a circular rim, all sitting upon a conical foot. The body is adorned with several indentations that form lovely vertical ridges. Alternatively, the second vessel is covered in a creamy white glaze and in the form of a bowl with a concave base and slanted walls that flare outwards to a broad rim. Its exterior is embellished by relief decoration of abstract motifs. Size of largest (bowl): 4.3" Diameter x 1.4" H (10.9 cm x 3.6 cm)

Condition
Repair to side of bowl with restoration over break lines. Minor area of loss to rim of bowl. Chipping to periphery of foot on cup. Both have some light nicks and abrasions. Otherwise, both are intact and excellent with nice glaze.
