Description
Third Intermediate Period, 1069-702 BC. A bronze figurine of seated Isis wearing a tripartite wig, crown and uraeus, with the infant Horus on her lap; Horus with sidelock of youth; Isis's right hand on her breast preparing to suckle Horus; mounted on a custom-made stand. Cf. Andrews, C., Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994, item 18a. 215 grams, 10.5cm (4"). Acquired in the late 1990s-early 2000s. Private collection of Dr H.B., a Sussex lady. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no.11123-184256.
