Description
"The Bell Cricket" woodblock print after Utagawa Kunisada II (1823-1880) with publisher's seal of Tsutaya Kichizo lower right and with censors seal as used 1853-1857. Note on mat and label to verso incorrectly attribute the print to Utagawa Kunisada I (1785-1864.) Kunisada II studied under Kunisada I and took his name in respectful aspiration. Frame, approx. 19 3/8" x 14 3/8". Sight, approx. 12 5/8" x 8 7/8".
