Utagawa II Kunisada (Japanese, 1823-1880), Two Prints From Fifty-Four Modern Feelings (Murasaki Shikibu Genji Karuta)
Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1857, ink and colors on paper, woodblock print, published by Tsutaya Kichizo, these two prints illustrating chapters 7 and 8 with the Genjimon and inscription at top corner, deluxe printing with embossing to robes on both, signed in red cartouches, publisher seal and censor and date seals to each, identically framed with mat, not examined outside of the frame.
Framed dimensions 19 3/4 x 15 1/4 in., Sight size 13 1/2 x 9 1/2 in.
