View, from Nob Hill diagonally over the Plaza to Telegraph Hill, of burning city; bay in background. This devastating fire was San Francisco's sixth since Christmas Eve of 1849. Exploding kegs of miners' blasting powder and bands of looters added to the terror. Baird 301; Clifford 308; Peters, California on Stone, p. 137 & Plate 45.
Condition
A bit of wear at corners, a few short edge tears; very good.
