Lithographed view of the plaza filled with people watching parade. On first page of double sheet.. 21.7x27.3 cm (8½x10¾").

A splendid, teeming scene of San Franciscans patriotically painting the town red during their first celebration of Independence Day after attaining statehood. Several fire-fighting companies are shown with their engines. There was a nearly identical issue published by Atwill & Co. Peters, California on Stone, p. 137; Baird 313a.

Condition

Some very faint foxing; tiny nick to lower edge of 1st leaf; near fine.
